ATTITUDE

Attitude begins with a God Adjustment. Without God it is impossible to have the right attitude because attitude begins with God.

Psalms were born out of difficulty. Epistles were written in prisons. Beethoven became deaf when writing his 5th symphony. Roosevelt had Polio. Lincoln was born in poverty. Albert Einstein was a slow learner. According to the author. One in four great leaders had handicaps, such as blindness, deafness, or crippled limbs. Three in every four were either born in poverty, came from broken homes or came from problem situations.

How would you feel to be in prison as Joseph was for years?

How would you like to be castrated as Daniel was?

How would you like to beaten, shipwrecked, stoned?

The only thing that you can usually change about your life is your attitude.

Many times you cannot change your:

  1. Health
  2. job
  3. family
  4. children
  5. money in the bank
  6. car breaking down
  7. dishwasher breaking down
  8. a leak in your roof
  9. a slow driver in front of you
  10. past

Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% about how you react to it.

94% of all fortune 500 executives attributed their success more to attitude than to any other basic ingredient.

Carnegie institute analyzed the records of ten thousand persons and concluded that 15% of success is due to technical training. The other 85% is due to personality, and the primary personality trait identified by the research is attitude.

Attitude is based upon what we see and how we handle our feelings.

The cup is half full or half empty?

Chinese tattoo artist states “before tattoo on body, tattoo on mind.”  “born to lose”

The pessimist complains about the wind

The optimist expects it to change

The leader adjusts the sails.

Philippians 2 talks about having the attitude of Christ. He was God but did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing.

Acts 17:6 These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.

TO DO:

List all of your recent problems and all of the reasons why you have been crabby, angry, stressed, etc. in the past for weeks

How many of them were you able to control? And how many were out of your control? (other people, etc)

Maxwell.

1.      They do not know what they are supposed to do.

2.      They do not know how to do it

3.      They do not know why they should.

4.      There are obstacles beyond their control

Gravity is a natural law and we cannot overcome it. Yet we also need it to function normally. Obstacles are conditions of success. For example.

The Eagle and air.

There are always problems in this world. Every generation faces them. i.e. Eagles are glorious birds and they soar in the sky. But in a vacuum they would fall immediately to the ground. Air gives resistance. The very thing that gives resistance to the Eagle is at the same time the condition for flight.

The Boat and Water.

The boat’s propeller needs to overcome water in order to move, yet without the resistance of water the boat would not go or stop or function normally.

Men In Black – The reality of problems per Tommy Lee Jones

KAY -We do not discharge our weapons in view of the public.

JAY- Can we drop the cover-up bull?! There's an Alien Battle Cruiser that's gonna blow-up the world if we don't...

KAY -There's always an Alien Battle Cruiser...or a Korlian Death Ray, or...an intergalactic plague about to wipe out life on this planet, and the only thing that lets people get on with their hopeful little lives is that they don't know about it.

Life and difficulties go hand in hand.

Every great innovation is born out of adversity. If there is not a problem there is not a solution.

Jesus was the great problem solver.

John 8:1

They brought a woman to him that was caught in Adultery. The law says to stone!

He who is without sin can cast the first stone. Creative out.

Luke 20:20

Is it right to pay taxes unto Caesar? Render unto Caesar what is Caesars! Creative out.
